Location


The lodge is located 275 miles (443 km) north of Toronto on the Smoothwater Lady Evelyn Lake system. The lake is 22 miles long.

There are only 5 small private cabins other than Lake Obabika Lodge on the ENTIRE 20 mile long lake. There are four other lakes in the vicinity, Clearwater Lake, Upper Bass Lake, Wawiagama Lake and Sarah Lake. The quaint northern community of River Valley is only a one hour drive along a picturesque country road.

- 2 hour drive from Sudbury (mini bus ride available from Sudbury Airport)

- 2 hour drive from North Bay

- 20 minute flight (one way) from Sudbury Airport aboard a Helicopter

 

Old Growth Protected Forest: The Temagami Old Growth Forest bound's with the famous White Pine, historic Indian sites and unspoiled Indian pictographs, old trapping and prospecting trails, all of which make for enriching and rejuvenating hiking experiences located on the northern end of Lake Obabika. 

Currently the Lodge is operated as a resort by the Herburger Family who entertains returning guests globally: USA, France, Italy, Switzerland and Japan, and is ranked as a Four Diamond Resort by CAA/AAA. Given its remoteness, this ranking is considered an exceptional tribute to Lake Obabika Lodge, as it is the only fishing lodge that has held this rating in Ontario and has done so for eleven consecutive years.
